Submission to the House of Lords European Affairs Committee Inquiry, October 2022
The European Affairs Committee was appointed to consider matters relating to the United Kingdom’s relationship with the European Union and the European Economic Area, including the implementation and governance structures of any agreements between the United Kingdom and the European Union; to consider European Union documents deposited in the House by a minister; and to support the House as appropriate in interparliamentary cooperation with the European Parliament and the Member States of the European Union.
The Committee held an inquiry into the future UK-EU relationship in October 2022. The inquiry examines the current state of UK-EU relations and how these can be developed and improved in the next few years. It looks, in particular, at the overall political, diplomatic and institutional relationship, the foreign policy and security relationship, environment and climate change cooperation, and the interrelated areas of culture, education and mobility.
